Portable Fire Extinguishers
This course is an 4 hour intensive NFPA Standard derived course that is both conducted in the classroom and on the fire training field for live fire training. The curriculum for this course is drawn from NFPA 10 (Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers). Each participant must successfully use both a cartridge operated dry chemical and carbon dioxide fire extinguisher during live fire evolutions.
Confined Space Awareness & Rescue Operations Levels I & II (NFPA 1006/1670/1983)
This 80 hour training program is designed for basic Confined Space Rescue understanding and common knowledge that the individual student needs to comprehend the information contained within NFPA 1006. The Instructor’s will attempt to build confidence in the use and recognition of rescue hardware, the understanding of ropes and rescue knots, the proper utilization of different mechanical techniques. This class also contains proper handling of Minor Medical situations. Understand the Incident Command System (ICS), as it is utilized in your facility. During the operations level of this training the student will learn the proper technique to make entry into a confined space area. Be able to monitor the atmosphere. Be able to assess a victim and do basic medical treatment and package victim for removal from confined space. Be able to evaluate and access the situation. Understand the needs for Atmospheric monitoring. Know the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT), is necessary during all Confined Space rescues.
It is recommended that the course is taken as an 80 hour program (Level I and Level II consecutively), however, it is possible to split the program in to two 40 hour training sessions. It is recommended that no more than one month interval between courses is allowed to pass by.
High Angle Rope Rescue Team Technician (NFPA 1006/1670/1983)
This 40 hour advanced high angle rope rescue class will test abilities to perform rescues at high levels with the use of ropes and rescue hardware. The student will be able to develop an Emergency Response Plan and implement the plan during a rescue situation. All students will be able to identify the NFPA standards; NFPA 1983 (Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services), NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents) & NFPA 1006 (Standard for TEchnical Rescuer Professional Qualifications), that associate with rope rescue.
Advanced Team Rescue (NFPA 1006/1670/1983)
This intensive program is designed to challenge teams in multiple rescue scenarios where the need to effectively and rapidly plan and implement operations are critical. This course is for experienced and trained personnel that have already successfully completed training to the three NFPA standards; NFPA 1983 (Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services), NFPA 1670 (Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents) & NFPA 1006 (Standard for Technical Rescuer Professional Qualifications). Scenarios are uniquely developed for each class and will incorporate as many reality factors as possible to make the training a realistic and valuable enhancement to a team’s preparedness.
